A unicellular, marine, centric diatom belonging to the Coscinodiscophyceae (Class), Chaetocerotaceae (Family). Cell size can range from 10-50µm.This microalga is rich in valuable ω-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA and contains high levels of carotenoids/antioxidants such as Fucoxanthin and Diadinoxanthin.
