A unicellular, green, freshwater microalga, belonging to the Chlorophyta (Phylum), Chlorophyceae (Class), Sphaerpleales (Order), Scenedesmmaceae (Family). This microalgae is rich in vitamins and pigments such as Lutein, Astaxanthin and β carotene as well as interesting polysaccharides.
